Brazilian Butt Lift
Fat tissues are removed from the patient’s abdomen, waist, hip, or thigh areas using liposuction. The fat tissues are processed, purified, and prepared for re-injection. Subsequently, fat is injected into this area to make the upper part of the buttocks appear fuller and more curvaceous. The lower back and waist area are slimmed through liposuction, thus making the buttock contours more defined. This results in more uplifted and fuller buttocks.
The retention of injected fat tissue depends on the blood circulation in the area. Therefore, there is a possibility that some of the fat tissue may disappear over time through a mechanism called resorption. Taking this into account, more fat tissue than normal is injected during the surgery. This helps compensate for the reduction that will occur over time due to resorption.
The majority of resorption occurs within 6 to 12 weeks after surgery. After this period, the remaining volume is expected to be permanent. Additional fat injections may be required in cases of volume loss.
Depending on the extent of the surgery, we accommodate our patients in the hospital for 1 or 2 days. During the first few days after surgery, there may be pain and swelling that responds to medication. For one week after surgery, the patient should avoid lying on their back and sitting directly on their buttocks.
Patients can typically return to work within 1 week. During the recovery period, especially in the first 4 weeks, heavy physical activities should be avoided.
